WARNING! FINDW does not work with MS Windows Vista!
FINDW is not supported in the Vista environment. Do not upgrade to Vista if you need to use FINDW as the ODBC will not load.
Banner & Internet Explorer 7
Does Banner refuse to load after you upgraded to IE7? The solution to this problem is to uninstall the JInitiator using these instructions:
- From the Start menu (Classic View), click on Set Program Access Defaults.
- Click on Change or Remove Programs.
- In the Add or Remove Programs window, click on Oracle JIniatiator 1.3.1.28.
- Click on the change/remove button.
- An Oracle JInitiator window will display asking if you wish to proceed. Click Yes.
- This will uninstall the JInitiator.
- Now click on your Banner icon and log into Banner. JInitiator will re-load (so it might take a little longer than usual to get in) and Banner should work normally.
Does Data Extract not work after you upgraded to IE7? You need to enable automatic prompting for file downloads:
- Once you're logged into Banner, open the Connect to Banner window.
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options and then click on the Security tab.
- Click on the Custom Level button.
- Scroll to the Downloads section.
- Under “Automatic Prompting for files downloads” click the Enable radio button.
- Click OK to close the box.
- A confirmation dialog box will display. Click Yes.
- Click OK.
- This will close the Internet Explorer Tools menu. Minimize the Connect to Banner window and go back into Banner. This should enable the Banner Data Extract Process.

Banner maintenance occurs on a monthly basis and takes place from 5:00 pm until about midnight. During this time all Banner databases are down (ADMN, CyberBear, TEST7, REPORT, HCADMN, HCTST7, FINDW, AUADMN, AUTST7).
Please log off Banner by 5:00PM.
CyberBear will be brought down at approximately 4:45PM.
